Resonance
A Single-Interface Sci-Fi Survival Thriller
In a world silenced by an invisible invasion, you are the last operator. Resonance: The Signal is an atmospheric immersive simulation where sight is a luxury and sound is survival. Trapped in a frozen shelter, you must bridge the gap between isolation and connection using obsolete technology and a remote-controlled rover.
Genre: Immersive Sim / Survival Horror / Narrative Puzzle Platform: PC (Web/Desktop)
The Core Loop
- The Listener (Radio) Tune into the static. Rotate physical knobs on your dashboard to intercept, triangulate, and decode Morse code SOS signals from isolated survivors.
- The Navigator (Rover) Deploy your rover to the coordinates. The screen is pitch black. You must actively "Ping" to generate a radar outline, revealing terrain and threats for mere seconds.
- The Survivor (Stealth) Hide your signal. Enemies hunt by detecting energy radiation. Manage your rover’s noise floor—move slowly, scan sparingly, and balance the need to see with the need to remain invisible.
Key Features
- Blindsight Exploration: A unique visual style where the world exists only when illuminated by sound. Information is your most valuable resource, and it fades with every second.
- Tactile Analog Interface: No abstract menus. Interact with a diegetic workstation featuring realistic oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and frequency knobs.
- Physics-Based Ecosystem: Enemies are part of a wave-physics simulation. Detect them by their base noise, distract them with decoys, or destroy them by matching their frequency to trigger a fatal resonance.
- Roguelite Mechanics: Your rover runs on "Wave Cores" scavenged from fallen entities. Each core defines your frequency range and abilities. If the rover dies, the core is lost.
Development History
Original Prototype (2023-03) Established the core "Echolocation" mechanic in a 2D platformer format. Play Prototype | GitHub
Current Iteration: The Signal Evolved into a cohesive "Single Interface" immersive sim, integrating the wave physics engine with narrative-driven radio simulation and high-stakes resource management.
